Sergeant Kevin Palmatory

Kevin Palmatory, a 1977 graduate of Moberly High School, began his employment with the Moberly Police Department on December 14, 1980 as a patrol officer. From 1985 through 1991, he was the Traffic Safety Officer for the department. In 1991, he was assigned to the departmentís first Community Oriented Policing (COPs) program, stationed in Allendale Manor, through December 1993 when he was promoted to Corporal and transferred to the late night layover shift. In November 1998 he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to the day shift as a street supervisor.

From January to March 2001 Commander Palmatory attended and graduated from the internationally recognized Federal Bureau of Investigationís National Academy, 204th Session, in Quantico, Virginia.

In December 2002 he was transferred from the day watch supervisor to Public Information Officer, a new position created in the department, and in June of 2007 was promoted to the rank of Commander, Bureau of Support Services. He serves as the point of contact for community awareness and news media outlets as well as the Evidence Custodian for the department.

In addition to his duties as the public information officer and evidence custodian, Commander Palmatory is one of the two original team members that remain on the departmentís tactical team.
